The Impact of Your Gift
1000 Friends works to promote Smart Growth and improve the quality of life of all Marylanders. The name 1000 Friends implies that through our collective efforts, and the donations of many, the future we all envision for Maryland grows stronger.

Honoring Betsy Massanek
1000 Friends of Maryland, and many other local non-profits, lost our long-time friend and bookkeeper Betsy Massanek in June 2015 to a short vicious battle with cancer. Betsy worked with 1000 Friends since our early days, and her friendship with Dru goes back to childhood. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and co-workers. We would like to thank the following people for making generous donations in her memory:
Bruce Dunlop Lighting Design, LLC
Nathaniel Hansen and Shunyi Wu
Daniel S. Kebede
Sally Otto and Anthony Warchal
