2012 Legislative Session: Bold Steps Towards Smart Growth and Clean Water

The 2012 legislative session has rung to a close.  This session will be remembered as the moment in time when Maryland took important steps towards cleaner local waters and smarter growth to protect rural lands.

Four critical bills passed on the very last days of session (one just moments before the final bell) While some of the bills were weakened in the process they still result in strong new tools for Maryland.

We are excited that the legislature recognized the importance of smart growth for the health of our environment and the strength of our economy, and we are grateful for the strong leadership of Governor O’Malley on these critical issues.
